THE REPUBLIC DAY
Republic day is a national festival it is celebrated every year on 26th January.it is an important day for the citizens of whole country.it marks the day when India became truly independent and embraced democracy. In other words, it celebrates the day on which our constitution came into effect. On 26 January 1950, almost 3 years post-independence, we became a sovereign, secular, socialist, democratic Republic.
When india got the independence on 15th August 1945,The need of a constitution arises.a committee was formed after a few days later.On the 29th of August constituent assembly was formed.And it was appointment with a duty of forming the constitution for the country.
Dr.B.R Ambedkar was appointed as the chairman of the committee.
It took the constituent assembly Two years,Eleven months and nineteen days
to form the constitution of our country.
On January1950,hand written copies of the constitution are signed by the members of the constituent assembly.
After two days on the 26th of January1950, it was declared as the Republic day.
It is celebrated every year on 26th January.
It is declared as a national holiday.Pepple celebrate this festival with a lot of great and happiness.President of India raises national flag on Rajpath in new Delhi.
It is followed by 21 guns solute and national anthem.People from all over country cpme to view the grand celebration of Republic. Day.
The first president who hosted the republic day celebration was Rajendra prasad .
In school ,colleges,government officesand private organizationa the celebration is enjoyed with full enthusiasm.Many schools distribute sweets to students.
On this day people celebrate quite of freedom and forgot the difference between them such as caste,religion,language and culture.
It is not just a festival but pride that we all indians feel this is the only day when we should give tribute to our leaders and thank them for all they did for our independence.
